Snow covered Abtenau in winter Winter and early spring in Abtenau is a snow covered wonderland offering excellent Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Tobogganing, and Ice Skating.

The immediate resort provides 12 km of downhill pistes and excellent facilities for beginners, with 4km of red runs, 2 km of black runs and 55 km of cross country trails.

Intermediate and experienced skiers will enjoy the Dachstein – West region with its 145 km of groomed slopes. It's encouraging to note that the colour coding in Austria is easier than the equivalent French runs, obviously depending on snow condition. The Ski Express bus links Abtenau with the resorts of Russbach, Annaberg and St. Martin. www.dachstein.net

Russbach offers a kindergarten for children over 1 year, which is open from 9 - 4.30pm at E5 per hour or E20 per day.
