Postalm High Pastures - A World of Alpine Flowers

<span class=
During the summer, the Postalm is used as summer pasture. Over 100 farmers from the Lammertal drive their young cattle up there to graze. In fact, more than 2,000 calves make this hill country of 46 square kilometres (the largest such area in Austria) their summer home and source of food. The characteristic vegetation of these hills is a unique environment for plants, with all kinds of species represented; numerous types of gentian, rare orchids are well represented.

The Alpine Flower Trail is an easy ramble. The loop is about 3 km long and takes around one hour to walk. A display board at the trail head and 40 more along the way allow you to experience this region's fascinating world of Alpine flowers at a relaxed pace.

Salzburg is a relaxing city to visit with most of the tourist attractions centered around the old town.

<span class=The streets are filled with bistros and cafes to sit and watch the world go by. Or go shopping in one of its many designer shops or wander round one of the old antique shops selling traditional Austrian furniture and clothes. And as the evening draws in, Salzburg comes alive with fine dining and many bars and clubs. You could even take the elevator up to the Modern Art Gallery and bar with the best views over the old town clocks.
